Any particular event that made you natural?

For the majority of my life, my hair was always extremely difficult to manage due to its fine, fragile, texture. As a result, my adolescent years were spent wearing weaves, braids, and hairpieces because I was too embarrassed to rock my real hair. Believe it or not, underneath all of that fake hair, I still had the AUDACITY to wear a relaxer, which literally MURDERED my delicate tresses! This was the cycle of my hair-life. Strangely, I considered it to be the norm.

Then one day, during the first week of my sophomore year at university, I met this beautiful black girl who had long, healthy, natural hair. I remember being so in awe with the fact that she was 100% black and yet still had long hair! I asked her if she had a relaxer, she said no. I asked her if she ever wore extensions, she also said no.
